Suitable for students aged 8 upwards, although an exceptionally talented student under this age would be encouraged to audition. Students aged 16+ attending college are given a discount for this class.
Entry to this class is by audition only, and is aimed at students with an exceptional talent, and those wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts industry. This class is run as a professional class, and is fast paced.
The material covered varies from Musical Theatre to Pop songs and everything in between! The emphasis on this class is on performance and the 'intense' group is very often called on for shows at various events and competitions. Career guidance is offered and audition technique is also built upon, preparing students for the competition in the industry. Students are constantly learning new skills and building on confidence
Students attending Intense must attend a Saturday Academy class to develop their technique and stamina. Students are constantly working towards a show and other performances, aiming to increase confidence, professionalism and various skills. Audition technique will be learned and master classes and tuition is offered in vocal and dance techniques.
Career guidance and advice is offered if required.
Intense Uniform All Intense students have the responsibility to ensure the following :-
* All students attending, Intense, should wear blacks. That is black trousers , black t-shirts & black tops. Alternatively turquoise clothing may be worn
* Jazz Shoes are a must, these are essential for dance and are necessary for all shows.
* All items must be clearly named.
* Students are requested to only bring with them drinks in plastic screw top bottles.
* A towel is useful.
* A folder with your lyrics and C.D.'s should always be available so carry it to TSS for all sessions.
* An up to date list of your personal Repetoire
* A list of songs you are working towards together with original recording ready to perform at any time.
* Backing tracks remain the property of TSS and are loaned to students.
* Turquoise and black funky performance clothes and accessories. This costume must be seen and approved
* Make sure your responsibility to have your costumes approved to enable you to take part in performances

* Hot pants (girls)
* Fishnet tights always have spare pairs available. (girls)
* Flesh coloured bra with see through straps. (girls)
* We insist that all items brought to stage school or other venues should be labelled with the student's name.
* We ask that students look after their belongings as we can not be held responsible for them.
* Discipline is essential in all areas of performance particularly when students are back stage waiting to go on stage. Talking is not allowed. It is also essential when at other venues as they are representing TSS
* At the end of the performance students are asked to leave their area clean and to take their belongings with them.
* Students should not leave the building without informing the staff member with the register. No parents or visitors are allowed back stage.
* Volunteers are always welcome-to chaperone the students back stage, to help with costumes or make-up, to run refreshments, during dress rehearsal, to prepare the hall before and after the performance. Help is always gratefully received even if it is only for an hour.
